HEROES!

SYNOPSIS

BACKGROUND

In 2010 individuals known collectively as the “Hollywood Heroes” took the Los Angeles Police Department to Federal Court for breach of the First Amendment Right to Free Speech.  Over a period of some five years several Officers were involved in the wrongful and unjust arrest of several costumed characters for violation of the LAMC, Los Angeles Munciple Code sections 41.18 (obstruction of a public sidewalk) & 41.59 (aggressive solicitation).  Since then these individuals have been under scrunity from the LAPD as well as the National Media with every fracas, spat and territorial beef broadcast for the world to see.  The following story occurs shortly after one such fracas…
Stu Hogan is idolized by every child walking Hollywood Boulevard apart from his own.  Working the star-studded street as a Batman impersonator alongside good pal Brian (Superman) and steroid shooting Ricky (The Incredible Hulk), Stu’s love of alcohol, gambling and strippers have left him behind with his alimony, down on his luck and looking for a quick fix for both.

Seeing an opportunity to change his circumstances, Stu enlists his fellow superheroes for a daring heist that has the impersonators fall short of their counterparts’ lofty standards causing friendships to fracture and divisions to become deadly.

I REALLY GOT SUCKED INTO THIS BOOK - RIGHT FROM THE GET GO I WAS HOOKED. AS THE STORY BUILDS YOU CAN ONLY FEEL LIKE A PASSENGER ON A ROLLER COASTER HANGING ON FOR THE RIDE. LOUDEN'S INFAMOUS TURNS OF PHRASE MADE ME LAUGH AND GROAN, AND THE DEPTH OF CHARACTERS AND INTRIGUING STORY-LINE KEPT ME GRIPPED FROM COVER TO COVER. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

I HAVEN'T BEEN AS EXCITED TO READ A BOOK IN A VERY LONG TIME AND TRUST ME, I WASN'T DISAPPOINTED.  I RACED THROUGH IT IN AN EVENING AND FROM PAGE ONE I WAS HOOKED.  I KNEW IT WAS GOING TO BE A NIGHT OF THE 'JUST ONE MORE CHAPTER' KIND.
HIGH BROW LITERATURE - MAYBE NOT, BUT MY GOODNESS, HEROES OF HOLLYWOOD BOULEVARD IS A SMART, PUNCHY BOOK FULL OF DISTINCTIVE CHARACTERS, CRACKING DIALOGUE AND A CRAFTY PLOT THAT KEEPS YOU TWISTING AND TURNING.
INTERESTING, INTRIGUING AND INVENTIVE.  I CAN'T RECOMMEND THIS BOOK ENOUGH. 5 STARS!
